WhatAreYouBuilding.AI is a free, worldwide directory of what independent builders are shipping — AI, SaaS and dev tools, by country, category and funding stage. Anyone can list what they are shipping. Every submission is read before it appears, and the leaderboard is ranked by what visitors actually do here — not by revenue, and not by who paid.
Listings stay. They are organised by country, category and funding stage, so this answers who is building AI tools in Israel, or which bootstrapped founders are raising — rather than what went up this morning. A product listed a year ago is as findable as one listed today.
Four signals, each counting distinct people per day rather than events:
Sending the same person back repeatedly does nothing. Rank is not revenue, not user counts, and not a judgement about quality.
A submission goes into a queue and is checked before it enters the directory, usually within seconds. Anything unclear waits for a person, which takes longer. Edits go through the same read. While a listing waits, its page is visible only to whoever submitted it.
Sponsorship exists and is kept separate. The rails beside the directory are paid placements: they buy a position beside the listings, never a position in them, and never one on the leaderboard.
The same catalogue is served to an MCP client and to a browser. There is an open JSON API that needs no key, an llms.txt, and a page per listing written so that an assistant asked for tools like yours has something it can quote.
An independent project, not a company with a team behind it, and not funded by the products it lists.
