SquishyFile Video Upscaler is a free, browser-based tool that increases a video's resolution — turning a soft 480p or 720p clip into a sharp 1080p or 4K file — without installing any software or uploading your file anywhere. Everything runs locally in the browser using WebAssembly and WebGPU.
Unlike most upscaling tools that either lock quality behind a paywall or require a heavy desktop install, SquishyFile processes video entirely client-side and automatically switches between two upscaling engines depending on your source: a genuine AI model for videos up to 720p (best detail reconstruction), and FSR (AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution shaders) for anything larger, which keeps processing fast without needing a powerful GPU.
